A safe, hands on treatment that is effective at reducing pain and increasing mobility. The great thing about osteopathy is that it can be applied to anyone who has muscle and / or joint pain. The pain reduction that is experienced as a result of treatment can help you return to work and participate in the activities that you enjoy. Osteopathy can be used to treat muscle and joint pain caused through injury and longstanding conditions such as Arthritis.
Your treatment will consist of a combination of massage and stretching techniques. Manipulation and taping techiques may also be used. All of these techniques are used with your consent.
There is a possibility that you may experience a small amount of pain after your session, this should not last for more than a few days.
You may be asked to dress down to your underwear in order to get direct access to the areas that are causing your symptoms. Towels are provided for discretion and are used during your treatment session. If the idea of removing articles of clothing makes you uncomfortable, you can wear shorts / leggings.
Green Room Osteopathy will arrive at your location with a treatment plinth and towels. After setting up the plinth a detailed case history will be taken and then a thorough examination before commencing any treatment.
Bring any recent X ray / MRI reports and details of any medication you are taking.
Your first appointment will last up to 60 minutes to allow time for a thorough case history to be taken. Subsequent appointments will be up to 45 minutes.
This depends on the nature of your presenting symptoms. In most cases it can be between 2 - 4 treatments. For ongoing maintenance treatment cases it depends on each individual persons symptoms.
If you find that your osteopathic treatment is not working for you as anticipated, your Green Room Osteopath will refer you back to the relevant healthcare provider.
Currently Green Room Osteopathy operates on a self - pay basis only.
